Beer Coasters
My name is Paweł Utecht and I live in Koszalin. I started collecting beer coasters at the age of 15.
Due to the fact that it was difficult to get them and I lacked time and perseverance, I interrupted my playfulness
with birophilistics until 2005. Over the last decade or so, I have managed to increase my collection considerably.
I collect beer coasters from all over the world as well as Polish ones.
Poland is a collection of nearly 3,000 coasters from over 200 breweries and mini-breweries. In my collection
I mostly have post-war coasters, but I also have pre-war ones.
The foreign collection consists of over twenty thousand ‘wafers’ from several thousand breweries from over 150 countries around the world.
In my collection, in addition to coasters from many European countries, I also have more exotic ones
from countries such as Jordan, Madagascar, Algeria, Barbados, Burma, Chile, Egypt, Eritrea, Fiji, Guinea, India, Israel, Japan, Cameroon, Cuba, Liberia, Laos, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, Panama, South Africa, Rwanda, Sri Lanka, St Vincent Islands, Vietnam, Vanuatu and many others. You can find a list of all of them in the ‘My foreign staples’ tab.
The most important breweries in my collection are:
GROLSCH and KRONENBOURG, in addition the favourite breweries in the collection are EFES, STELLA ARTOIS, GUINNESS, BOFFERDING, CARLSBERG, SCHULTHEISS and HEINEKEN.
In addition to the coasters, I own several thousand labels. They are in my collection rather by chance. I mainly add Polish, Scandinavian, Asian and exotic labels to my collection.
I received a lot of coasters directly from the breweries. A large part of my collection is an exchange with other collectors. Apart from Polish collectors, I exchange coasters with collectors from Sweden, Hungary, Turkey, the Netherlands, Italy, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Germany, Israel, Brazil, Columbia, Norway, the United States, Cameroon, Latvia, Lithuania, Belarus, France, Austria, Denmark, Greece, Romania, Spain, Switzerland, Slovakia, Russia, England, Portugal, Ukraine, New Zealand and Australia.
